Sewing Production Supervisor

We are seeking a Sewing Production Supervisor with 3+ years of experience to lead our day-to-day small in-house manufacturing team and external sewing contractors.

Please Note: This is a “Hands On” position and we are looking for someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done!

PRODUCTION SEWING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

ABILITY TO SPEAK, READ, AND WRITE IN SPANISH IS REQUIRED

Requirements:

  • 3+ years proven work experience as a production, manufacturing, and/or materials management in garment/apparel, bag, and/or similar sewing operations.
  • 3+ Years Management Experience.
  • Knowledge of production/manufacturing processes, techniques, and sewing machinery.
  • Experience in single needle, and automated sewing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where maybe doing something different every day.

Tasks Summary:

  • Manage production of company products (Cutting & Sewing)
  • Raw materials projections, liabilities, & Product Forecasting
  • Product costing
  • Ordering materials from suppliers
  • Quality Assurance/Quality Control

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, organizes, and develops production schedules to provide the required level of finished goods for all projects and product lines.
  • Supervises and manages the daily activities and performance of production personnel for in-house manufacturing and outside contract sewers.
  • Works to ensure availability of all materials and components necessary to produce the finished products.
  • Assists in the resolution of production, equipment, and systems problems, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in operating sewing and cutting machines to manufacture products according to set specifications including: standards of quality, cost, production, efficiency, and material waste control.
  • Training new employees in the use of single, multiple-needle, and automated sewing machines and demonstrating work methods and machine operation.
  • Responsible for overseeing inventories to ensure proper supplies are on hand to meet production demands.
  • Raw materials forecasting and purchasing.
  • Assist with product manufacturing forecasting.
  • New product costing (time studies and bill of material (BOM).
  • Initiates recommendations for new equipment and improvements.
  • Organizes the repair and routine maintenance of all production equipment.
  • Perform additional tasks or assignments requested by management.

Preferred Skills (Not Required, however a big plus if you have these):

  • Sewing medium to heavyweight fabric nylon products.
  • Program and troubleshoot machines.
  • Pattern making/Drafting on paper and/or CAD.
  • Veteran Military, Law Enforcement, and/or First Responder.
  • Firearms, MILSIM, Airsoft, MILSIM Paintball, Simunition, UTM.
  • Direct Action Resource Center (DARC) Training.

Software: Microsoft Office and Google applications (Sheets, Docs, email).
