C02 CNC Laser Cutting Operator

AXL Advanced is a local tactical gear design and manufacturing company seeking motivated laser cutting operators to join our team. We are rapidly expanding and looking for someone to grow with us!

Location: Wylie, TX
Duties

  • Responsible for operating & maintaining CO2 Laser cutters, cutting provided lists of materials that will then be bundled together by part numbers and handed off to the sewing team.
  • Performing in-line quality control of the cut materials and will be responsible for the accuracy of all cutting operations, as well as keeping material waste low.
  • Use of a laser cutter, hot/cold automated webbing and narrow trim cutter, and scissors will be part of the job.
  • Working with nylon fabrics, webbing, hook and loop Velcro, cords, composites, laminates, and various other types of textiles.
  • Materials inventory management and notifying the purchasing manager when material supplies are running low.
  • We are looking for someone with attention to detail who is organized, can follow directions, and identify issues before they become a problem.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed and identified by management.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 1+ Year experience with C02 Laser cutters
  • Apparel industry cut room experience, and textile materials knowledge are a plus.
  • Knowledge of importing DXF files into laser cutters and laser cutting control software (Lightburn, RDworks, etc).
  • Big plus if you know Autcad, Autocad LT, Fusion360, or similar CAD programs.

Additional Skills we are looking for (Not Required, however a big plus if you have them):

  • Speak and write in Spanish fluently
  • Knowledge of Materials, Nylon Gear & Sewing are a Big Plus: Different types of nylon fabrics, webbing, elastics, velcro, camo patterns, plate carriers, pouches, packs, industrial sewing machines, etc.
  • Experience in a production sewing environment (apparel, back packs, pouches, purses, bags, outdoor gear, etc).
  • Sewing on an industrial sewing machine
  • Knowledge of Military and/or Law Enforcement load-bearing gear (MOLLE/PALs), body armor vests, plate carriers, chest rigs, and ammo pouches from major brands (Spiritus, Crye, Ferro, Eagle, LBT, etc).
  • Military Veteran and/or First Responder
  • Software Programs: Lightburn, RDWorks, Microsoft Office programs (email, Word, and excel) or similar google app versions.
  • Experience with firearms, airsoft, milsim magfed paintball, etc.

Compensation / Job Advantages:

  • Work in a comfortable heated and air-conditioned facility
  • Starting wage of $16.00 to $20.00 per hour: based on your knowledge and experience
  • Paid time off: 7 Days per year
  • Pay Frequency: Weekly
